Our Community Investment
For most of us, there’s never been a better time to live, work and play in the Triangle. Indeed, our geometric gem is often cited as one of the best places in the country to build a life. More than 2 million people are already part of the equation, and the region grows by more than 80 people a day. Fortunately, to help safeguard and even improve our quality of life, voters in Durham County approved a half-cent sales tax to invest in transit improvements in 2011, followed by Orange voters in 2012 and Wake in 2016.
Going forward together, the counties’ individual transit plans will create a regional network that provides alternatives to driving on increasingly congested roads and opens up access to more job, education and health care opportunities for everyone.
